International Grant Update
We are thrilled to share our International Grant Project in Bauchi State, Nigeria is moving right along!

This project aims to provide clean and reliable water access to 10 underserved communities by constructing boreholes equipped with hand pumps. 10 boreholes have been completed and most have already been turned into wells. This is the first phase for the eventual installation of 20 total boreholes.

Many residents in this region currently rely on contaminated surface water and unreliable hand dug wells, leading to frequent outbreaks of waterborne diseases like cholera and diarrhea. Lack of potable water also affects school attendance, economic productivity, and overall quality of life.

When complete, this project will directly benefit 1000 people in each of the 10 communities in Bauchi State, including women and children, local schools, and health centers.

A special thank you to Galen Ericson for making this project come to life! We appreciate is dedication to the success of this project!

Board Spotlight
Travis Hunt
I am honored to carry on the legacy of Blue Springs Rotary Club Presidents, past and future.   I grew up in Stewartsville, Missouri, which is a very small town located in Northwest Missouri.  I received my undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Graceland University, and I hold an MBA from Baker University.  I’m happily married to my wife, Teresa, and a proud father of my daughter, Evelyn (Evie).
There are multiple things I love about being a member of not only our club, but Rotary International.  At our PETS training in Columbia, we were asked what makes us excited about being in the organization.  My four main reasons are as follows: 1. Service – the opportunity to give back to my community in ways I never considered.  2.  Friendship – connecting with other members of our community that care about Blue Springs and Grain Valley.  3.  Opportunity – building relationships I wouldn’t have been able to do if I wasn’t a member.  4.  Something bigger than self – the organization provides help at a worldwide level that we as individuals could not.
